Hannah Wells competed at the national meet in Vancouver Washington after winning the River States Conference meet.
Wells won multiple awards at the conference meet including runner of the year, newcomer of the year, and the champion of character. The first time in conference history that someone took home all three prestigious awards.
Wells placed 182nd in the talented race running a 24:21, her slowest time of the season. It is important to note that most of the runners that raced did not have spectacular days.
“It was a super challenging course a lot of tough hills and repeating sections that made it easy to check out,” Wells said. “Regardless, I was super blessed to be able to perform at the highest level possible and am eager to see what I can accomplish in track.”
“Hannah is a special talent; she is a monster on the course, and I can always expect her to give it her all.” Head Coach Josh Colvin said. “We are excited to see what she can get done on the track we are anticipating another big season,” Colvin said.
Wells was a transfer from University of Indianapolis where she was their top steeplechaser. Wells will look to build on her stellar career from the Greyhounds now as a Cougar as she looks to take on the Steeplechase once more.
