Are you looking forward to doing Christmas activities with your friends and family but you don’t know what to do around Kokomo and the surrounding area? Here is a list of fun activities that you can do that are not expensive and can create long lasting memories with the people you love:
Ice Skating at The Frozen Sandlot
During the winter, the Kokomo Municipal Stadium in Kokomo is turned into an ice rink made from real ice! You can go with your own skates or rent ones there. If you do not feel like skating feel free to just watch. This is a fun and family friendly activity that can be enjoyed for just five to seven dollars. The rink is only open for select days until January 11, 2026.
Christmas at the Seiberling Mansion
This year at the Seiberling Mansion the theme for Christmas is “The Carols of Christmas” where the opening night happened on December 3rd. Don’t worry if you missed it you will have another opportunity, the display is lasting all the way through December 30th. What should you expect when you go? For the first three weeks of December on Thursdays and Fridays admission is free from 4pm to 8pm. This is a chance to be able to look around the mansion and have a night full of Christmas without having to pay the cost of admission.
Holiday Bazaar at Artworks Gallery
During gallery hours until December 23rd make sure you take time to stop by the Holiday Bazaar that is at the Artworks Gallery. There are lots of handmade items from local artists that are worth checking out. They like to highlight on their website that it’s about more than just shopping but about “coming together and sharing the cheer.”
There are actually multiple places that you can go and see Christmas lights this year. Highland Park in Kokomo is a drive through light display that is open every night from 6pm to 10pm until the end of the year. The second place that you can go to see lights would be at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Greentown where the lights are continuing until Christmas. Another place would be the Lights in the Airpark which is located at Grissom Air Museum in Peru. This light display is open Thursday through Sunday from 4:30pm to 9pm. Each of these locations has more than just Christmas lights if you are looking for something to keep you busy that is just as fun!
