On February 15th at the Vogue Theater in Indianapolis, a live showing of the Woj Pod was offered to Indiana University Kokomo students.
The Woj Pod is hosted by senior ESPN NBA analyst and insider, Adrian Wojnarowski. In this special live edition, Woj was joined by NBA All-Star Indiana Pacers Guard Tyrese Haliburton. This year’s All-Star game is special because the event is being hosted in Indianapolis.
The podcast was about an hour long and covered a few topics from NBA life and the environment to the overall business of the NBA and sports in general.
“Earlier this season, your pacers had a few run-ins with the Milwaukee Bucks and there was some potential drama there,” Woj said. “When you hit the clutch three over Damian Lillard and stole his celebration afterward by pointing at your wrist was that premeditated?” Woj asked.
“Yeah, I think there isn’t anything there it was kind of in the heat of the moment you know? I got a little carried away, but I meant no disrespect I think Dame is a great player and he is a part of the reason why I wear 0,” Haliburton responded.
You heard it here first Haliburton wants no smoke with the Bucks.
Halfway through the pod, NBA legend Grant Hill joined the two. Hill is also the person responsible for building the USA basketball team for this year’s Olympic games in Paris.
“You know it’s a tricky process because some players may not adjust well to the FIBA Olympic rules as they are much more lenient when compared to the stickler NBA rules,” Hill said when asked about the process of choosing who will make the team.
I got the opportunity to go to the event and afterward, Woj hung around and we were able to ask him some questions. I asked what advice he has for aspiring writers out there.
“Write, rewrite, write some more, and write again,” Woj responded.
