Students and faculty gathered together in Alumni Hall on Feb. 14. to engage in
Valentine’s Day festivities.
The Student Life and Campus Diversity hosted a Fluff and Stuff event where students got
a chance to create their own stuffed animals and decorate valentines for their loved ones.
The International Student Organization was also in attendance at the event. They passed
out flowers to students waiting in line for their animals, provided donuts with different countries’
flags, and included activity sheets on the table tops where students could match how to say “I
love you” in different languages.
Many students attended the Valentine’s Day festivities, including Jenna Gross, Cady
Boaz, and Brianna Lane.
“I feel like the love in the air and making things for friends and family makes this event
different from all the others,” Gross said.
Gross said she heard about the event by seeing it on the TVs around campus. She thought
it looked cute and wanted to come check it out.
Boaz heard about the event talking to student life specialist Amanda Bradley who told her
to come check it out. She was happy she was able to make it.
“I try to make it to all campus events when they are happening during class. I can’t make
outside [of class time] events because I live 30 minutes away,” Boaz said.
Lane heard about the event after talking with her friends and having them say she should
come with them.
“I usually come to other events like this like the activities fair and events like that and
this one was definitely my favorite,” Lane said.
This event was a big hit with the students. Like Lane, student Allison O’Brien said this
event has also been one of her favorites that she has attended.
This campus holds a variety of events throughout each semester. The events can be found
on bulletin boards around the buildings, TVs in the hallways, and on the IUK Life website.
